Learn to Burn Field Day

Date: October 16th with back-up date of October 29th.

Time: Registration- 9:00am and class begins at 9:30am

Location: Cana Plantation 2838 McGill Road, Smyrna, SC

Lunch will be provided

Cost: FreeClass will be limited to 20 participants

Participants in the workshop will spend the day gaining hands own experience with a prescribed burn. Experts will walk participants thru the process of planning, carrying out and evaluating post burn. Participants will need to be prepared for field conditions, weather and smoke. Non synthetic clothing and leather footwear will be required to participate in the burn.

This workshop is being offered to the members of the Prescribed Fire Association first. You must register by September 6th  before the class is offered to the public.  To register, Contact Jaime Jones at jjones@scfc.gov or call 864-933-4165.
